GB7WR
Malvern Hills DStar Repeater
Purpose
Although there is an extremely good DMR repeater (GB7BJ) that covers the Malvern Hills and areas to the east side of the hills, this is the only digital mode available in the area. In order to open up other modes, GB7WR was added to the area to provide DStar and Fusion. The Fusion option has since been removed, and will, at some later date, be added as a different repeater.

GB7WR is a homebrew MMDVM repeater based on the Pi-Star image on a Raspberry PI 4. It runs a Motorola GM300 on transmit and receiving with a Motorola GM340.
The coverage south of the M50 is limited and does not match the propagation map. This appears to be due to some high buildings in that direction.
Although privately built and financed, this is free to use by any hams who want to use it.
